Course grinds work best, but you can use a smaller grind size and still enjoy good coffee thanks to the fine mesh filtering screen. Use two tablespoons for every eight ounces of boiled water (or slightly more if you like a richer brew). 2 – Boil the water. You can heat the water in the French press container if you don’t have a separate camping bottle or stove. Yes, it’s durable enough for campfire cooking! 3 – Pour your boiling water into the French Press container up to your desired amount (if heating the water separately). The measurements inside the container make it easy to create the correct ratio of coffee grounds and water.
