At 0.188″ thick, the blade is thinly ground for highly efficient chopping but the deep belly allows for controlled slicing. The jimping on the spine is angled, providing excellent control. The butt of the BK9 has a flattened pommel for hammering that is part of the tang, and protrudes from the handles.
