The CRKT M16-02B Deadbolt features a number on innovations, but one of them may be the strongest lock ever put into a production folder. It’s called the Deadbolt® and was designed by Brazilian Knifemaker Flavio Ikoma. When the blade is deployed, it’s held securely in place by a series of steel bolts that interlock with the base of the blade. What would normally be the pivot is a button that allows the user to disengage the lock without putting their fingers in harm’s way. Deployment automatically engages the lock; disengagement is achieved by pressing the pivot button. It could not be simpler. Designed by the legendary Kit Carson, the CRKT M16 was introduced in 1999.
